The 90s: Art and Fashion - Tate Britain - London

Tate Britain presents The 90s: Art and Fashion, an exhibition curated by fashion industry game changer Edward Enninful OBE, whose own experience of the decade shapes this exploration of a period in which a groundswell of creativity transformed British culture.
As Britain emerged from recession, a new mood of optimism, freedom and rebellion took hold, embodied by a new and diverse generation of creative talent. Seen through Enninful's eyes, art, design, fashion and photography fused into a single, potent cultural force, as long-held hierarchies were dismantled and high art and pop culture began to feed into one another.
The exhibition brings together iconic images by photographers such as Juergen Teller, David Sims and Corinne Day, shown alongside work by artists including Steve McQueen, Damien Hirst, Sarah Lucas and Yinka Shonibare. Fashion, film and music culture complete the picture, with collections by decade-defining designers Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
Reflecting both the energy and the challenges of the time, The 90s: Art and Fashion looks at the enduring influence of the key figures who emerged during the decade, and at a moment when the British creative spirit was audaciously renewed. Go to Website
