Light as Spatial Passage
2026
Part of the series Light as Space
Light as a Pathway into Space presents a series of works unified by a singular concept: light as a conduit between the external world and the internal landscape of human experience. In these paintings, light functions as far more than illumination. It is the primary subject, the generator of spatial depth, the director of the viewer's gaze, and the agent that transforms ordinary motifs into profound emotional encounters. A road, a coastline, an avenue of trees, a single tree, or a flower becomes a threshold into an inner journey—one in which atmosphere, presence, silence, and memory supersede descriptive detail. This series emerges from my practice of Poetic Impressionism. Here, form remains deliberately open, while focus concentrates on atmosphere, light, and emotional resonance. These works do not aspire to photographic fidelity; instead, they invite the viewer to pause, to inhabit a moment, and to continue the narrative within their own imagination. Each painting is an invitation to walk along a path of light and to discover one's own space of memory, hope, and inner stillness. Sergey Dubinin Poetic Impressionism

Birth of Light
2012
Oil, canvas hardboard
20х20см
I capture the birth of light—that first moment when a thin line pierces darkness, opening new horizons. This work embodies that initial impulse where light becomes a guide to spatial and inner freedom.
