Gustave Fayet: Icons of Modern Art - Fondation Louis Vuitton

The exhibition “Gustave Fayet: Collector - Creator. Icons of Modern Art,” on view at the Fondation Louis Vuitton from 9 October to 8 March 2027, traces the career of Gustave Fayet, a little-known collector and artist who played a major role in bringing modern art to the public’s attention at the turn of the 20th century. It is organized into two sections: the first, dedicated to the impressive collection of Gustave Fayet (1865–1925), brings together more than 250 works scattered across the globe, while the second focuses on the creations of this passionate collector—who was also an artist—revealing 325 previously unseen works. This is a unique opportunity for visitors to discover a key figure in modern art and to admire works by Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Odilon Redon, Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Paul Signac, Pierre Bonnard, Édouard Vuillard, and Henri Matisse.
